Unifi Email Notifications are based on a queue system. Emails sent only to amount of people they got stock for in order people signed up for.

Don't buy UNIFI products if you live in the UK. The returns process is done by sending your Items to the Netherlands. Your products get customs charges both directions for returns! £65 each way for a £200 item. The customer help line is desperately slow, and the help is less than vague. Your better off throwing faulty (warrantied) items in the trash.

the Pro Max 16 (PoE) might have some electrical safety issues and could be the reason it hasn't been in stock for a while, wouldn't buy them from anywhere for now UPDATE: the PoE version is back in stock!

Chris got pilloried in the comments when he announced UI Notify, and has since taken the video down. I felt he was gaming the system, at a time when installers like myself were desperate for hardware. It was the paid subscription that didn't sit well.

is there a PTZ camera similar to this one that works with the unfi platform and does NOT send data into a cloud?

Note that there really isn’t a compatible surveillance grade 2.5” larger than 1TB. You can certainly use any but I would be very surprised if they last longer than 2 years. Heat is potentially a factor as well. While those 1TB drives are cheap ($35) they still may only last 2-4 years or less. I did put a good quality SSD in a mobile one that has worked for a year now with no issues.

You made a mistake with turning IR off, the IR emitter being 'on' for the regular bullet while the AI is 'off' the IR is still being emitted on regular will illuminate for both cameras, so the testing of the AI was faulty unless you turned them both off at same time

I have 3 Flex3 camera in front, going to replace them with 2 turret that I snagged this morning. Turret should give me better wide angle than flex 3. I'm putting then at both corners facing out, hopefully that will cover all angles. Absolutely great review @DPCTechnology

In Florida, cold weather functionality is not an issue. I wonder if you might in passing provide a temperature rating in your reviews. I’m interested to know if cameras work in the cold and more so, if cold weather will ruin a camera. Cold means -25F.

When adding additional drives in the nvr do they need to be identical? If i have 2 do choose if they are mirroring data or expanding storage capacity. Also, do you notice a difference in any of them for notifying the smartphone app of a detention on a camera? Thanks!

Hello, I think that comparing cameras at night is not correct, since the illumination is carried out by cameras with more powerful infrared spotlights from a PRO camera, for example, so with FLEX, where the illumination is less powerful, the picture also looks good.

UniFi Protect on the UDR/Drea Wall is a "Forget It" thing. SD cards for storage, money is on it being the same tool who use a USB thumb drive in the UNVR's (used to be UNVR Pro's in those days before being renamed). You need big HDD's if you want storage. UCK G2 Plus, ditch the crappy laptop HDD and use a big SSD to keep heat down and have decent camera performance and up to half-dozen cameras. Be careful with the camera count calculators, drop 20-25% off the claims for more realistic real-world use. Maxxing out the units makes them really suck.

Nice video, really good info! Quite the crime we cant run Unifi Video/ now protect on our own hardware anymore.. In my opinion it was a Huge Middle finger to users. My experience with the CK Plus is like you say, its better not to run multiple 4k on it, its a hot and slow device, plus you cant exchange the battery when dead which makes it a waste product.. In my personal view its better to separate cloud controllers from NVR´s and maybe run the controller from AWS. For home use the CK plus is awesome but i think Dream Machine Special Edition is a bang for the Buck with the Poe ports for home /semi pro use:)

Stacking should also work between UNVR and UNVR Pro. Same devices is a bit limiting imo

im confused. why would detection only be on the AI Pro. do they literally do the processing on the camera. wouldn't it make more sense to have that be server side stream processing rather than on camera processing. unless they are gatekeeping the feature behind you buying a more expesive camera . anyone technical wanna chime in?

They need to come up with a cost effective kit, 2 or 4 cameras and a unvr with Poe and compete with other brands targeting everyday people.

If you have two Dream Machine Pro Max devices (one in shadow mode) can the two Pro Max's be stacked to double the NVR recording capacity?

I am having the same problem that @locharlie is having without the options under Detailed such as license plate search, the optical zoom is not there, etc. I am on the latest version of CKG2+ at 3.2.12 and network at 8.2.93, and Protect at 4.0.21. Is your NVR different and on a different version? Can it maybe the features are somewhat NVR dependent?

I abandoned this because of the irritating "vocal fry" affectation of the presenter. Maybe the lady had a sore throat on the day of recording but vocal fry habituees will find about about bad throats when the physical damage is done. It also sounds very silly. Re the 'product':- 1) it does NOT use artificial intelligence in any way at all; 2) Machine 'learning' at this very low level is actually easier to incorporate into program cores and the code lines are already there from the 1990s; 3) 'Copilot' is just a re-badged Office Assistant which automatically appeared in Works and early MS Office in the form of a paper clip symbol but one could choose a bouncy ball, cartoon Einstein, a cat or dog too. Assistant was removed because it was a 2-stage action to hide it and it might have lasted had it been just 1 click. 4) it is typical of M'soft to charge money for features already embedded in program cores but were blocked for several years rather than actually removed. It was hilarious when an instruction in Excel was met with the oddly worded "can't do it" factual answer. What the presenter was trying to achieve is actually easy in bare bones Excel but COPILOT was asleep at the joystick. If I still has shares in Microsoft I would do a quick check, note the failed gimmicks, broken promises (such as W10 being the last before changing to a service mode), the lies reTPM and manipulation of customer data and privacy and the fact that the company is 20 years behind the times. Then I would sell, damned quick.

With the AI pro having 1Gb rj45 it might could have updated frame rates later or at least we can hope that they it could be updated to frame rate like the G4 50fps

So who ever is intercepting any email from the recipient, can click on the one time passcode link, intercept the code, use it to log in and read the message. Where is the safety in that? Only PGP with a shared key is truly secure, I think.

Our local broadband provider requires conduit pathway be installed from the outside to the internal location in the dwelling. Unfortunately, this was too difficult for my cable guy! I am sure it would not be unsurmountable for you! It would be great if you could do one for conduit through brick wall on 2 Storey dwelling.

I cannot connect to the desktop app. Lower right hand of the app has the message Connect Cast x in Record Mode. Any suggestions?
